Why We Use PEMF (And You Should Too!)

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapies (PEMF for short) are sometimes seem as being on the outskirts of health and wellness devices. Honestly, I was a skeptic when I first heard of them. You mean to tell me something I can't feel is going to make me feel better? And what, these little waves are going to heal my body? Yeah, okay.

After doing extensive research and testing nearly a dozen different devices, I have settled on a couple that make regular appearances in our rehabilitation sessions here at Innervation in South Austin.

Here’s why we use it and why it’ll work for you:

  1. Improved Muscle Function

PEMF may be a subtle energy, but it is really invigorating. It provides the muscles the energy it needs to work more efficiently. When your muscles operate more effectively, they can handle more of the daily strains of work, exercise, and family. You also recover faster!

  2. Reducing Stress

Speaking of work, exercise, and family, stress is an underlying component of all those dynamics of our lives. With regular use, PEMF can reduce the physical effects of stress which makes daily challenges more manageable.

  3. Improving Bone Density

PEMF stimulates the parts of the cells in bones called the osteoblasts that improve our bone density and strength. This is especially important as we age because that bone density naturally declines. However, it's not too late to start building it back up with PEMF therapy.

  4. Improved Blood Circulation

PEMF enhances blood flow which can bring oxygen and vital nutrients to every part of your body. This can speed up healing.

  5. Muscle Relaxation

After a stressful day or an intense workout, our muscles can feel exhausted and even tense. PEMF therapy can help them relax, taking the edge off of discomfort and ensuring your body is ready for the next day's challenges.

  6. Reducing Chronic Inflammation

Chronic inflammation is a major underlying cause of nearly every disease. Some even call it the “silent killer.” PEMF helps your body manage and reduce that inflammation at the root cause. NSAIDs like ibuprofen can reduce inflammation as well, but they also have a negative effect on your gut biome. PEMF on the other hand is simply energy imparted on your own cells to reduce the inflammation naturally

  7. Increasing the Cellular Oxygen

Why is this important? Every cell in our body needs oxygen to carry out its tasks and oxygenated cell can carry out its natural processes more easily, taking less of a demand on your body.

PEMF is painless and non-invasive. Innervation is one of the only providers in the state who uses a frequency specific therapy approach to PEMF - meaning we use specific frequencies of pulsed energy combined together to heal virtually any condition at a cellular level. Yes, I said any condition!
