Pet Therapy in South Austin

We would do anything to help our pets feel better.

Even though they can’t speak, we can almost sense that they’re not feeling well. Maybe it’s a slow shuffle to the food bowl or they’re getting tired quickly during playtime. Whatever it is, we can sense that their energy is a bit off.

Can pets benefit from electrical stimulation?

You bet! Our Supercharged Rehab services rely on improving the health of the nervous system for humans and animals are not much different!

When we have chronic pain, the brain will apply the brakes, not allowing us to use our muscles. If we try, we get a little bit of pain, and maybe some fear, in response.

Using electrical stimulation, we’re able to activate the muscles at a higher degree than the nervous system can do on it’s own. Sending that signal from the muscles back into the brain is actually retraining the brain to take it’s foot off the brake.

Some of our favorite success stories come from our four-legged clients who have benefited immensely from this innovative approach, showcasing remarkable improvements in their mobility and overall well-being.

Case study: Miya

Miya ruptured a disc after being hit by a car and had undergone two back surgeries before receiving treatment.

Unable to walk without dragging her hind legs, Miya was not only able to stand again but even walk several feet using her hind legs after just one session.

The effects of this treatment lasted several days. During this time, Miya enjoyed reduced pain, more restful sleep, and more mobility. For a pup like Miya, regular treatments twice a week would be ideal.

Our rehab uses one or more of these types of technologies to help your pet heal. We base our therapies specifically on your pets individual needs.

  • Microcurrent Therapy

Frequency-specific microcurrent (FSM) is a technique for treating pain by using low-level electrical current. The current is delivered to certain parts of the body in an attempt to relieve pain.

One of the ways FSM works is by potentially increasing the production of a substance called ATP that’s inside injured tissues. ATP is the major source of energy for all cellular reactions in your body. Because treatment with FSM can increase the amount of ATP that’s created in your damaged cells by as much as 500%, this treatment may help with your recovery. Depending on the condition, treatment with FSM can “loosen” or soften the muscles, which can help relieve pain or stiffness.

  • Neubie Therapy

Relieve pain, improve range of motion, build strength, and enjoy improved neurological function with the NeuFit Neubie.

With this device, we can find exactly what muscles are turned off, turn them back on again, and create permanent, lasting changes in the brain.

The Neubie is phenomenal for orthopedic pain or complex neurological conditions like Epilepsy or different types of traumatic brain injury. Ask about our full body nervous system reset!

  • PEMF Therapy

PEMF, or Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy, works by using low-frequency electromagnetic waves to stimulate the body's cells. When exposed to these gentle pulses, the cells become more active, which can help improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and enhance the body's natural healing processes. For someone, PEMF may provide relief from pain, aid in faster recovery from injuries, and promote overall wellness by supporting better cellular function.

We love to work with pets. Here’s how we do it:

  • Meet & Greet

When we first meet your pet, we’ll spend a bit of time being near them and petting them (if they say that’s alright) to let them know we’re friendly folks and we’re here to help them feel better. Ideally, we’ll interact in a familiar, cozy place for your pet so everyone stays calm and relaxed before treatment.

  • Treat & Treatment

Once your pet is comfortable with us, we’ll give them a treat* and begin treatment. We encourage you to stay nearby if it makes your pet more comfortable. Of course, you are welcome to ask any questions you have.

*We ask that you provide a hand full of small high-value treats that your pet loves to help them stay focused and still.

  • Road to Recovery

After the treatment, we’ll give anther treat and plenty of love to your pet for being such a trooper! Together, we’ll observe your pet’s post-treatment behavior, make notes on the session, and let you know what to expect in the next few days.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely! Anyone with a nervous system can benefit from this work. We’ve personally worked on dogs, cats, horses, and a duck!

  • The best way to find out is to email clay@innervation.health or set up a free intake consultation call. We’ve seen a vast array of conditions and helped support the healing process in many cases. We’re confident we can tell you whether or not we can help with your pets specific situation. If we can’t, we’ll make a recommendation for someone who can.

  • That depends on the severity of the condition and how long your pet has been dealing with it. In general, the newer the injury or illness the faster we can help resolve it (however, we’ve helped some people with decades-long pain get relief in under 10 sessions).

Two treatment sessions per week for 4-6 weeks is our recommendation for chronic conditions.

  • The only device your pet may possibly feel during treatment is the NeuFit Neubie, an electrical stimulation device.

The sensation is like a moderate buzzing and your pet may experience muscle contractions (muscle twitching). We closely monitor your pet to manage the current at all times.

Your pet might feel uncomfortable during our “mapping” process where we search for muscles that are inactive. When we find those, they’re often more intense but never painful and your pet will let us know.

  • We’ve supported human and animal clients alike in their healing through all sorts of conditions - multiple sclerosis, chronic back pain, orthopedic surgeries, ALS, Parkinsons, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, lung function, compulsive behaviors, and a host of others.

  • While there are no known contradictory medications to our treatments, we recommend consulting your veterinarian regarding the safety and appropriateness of using PEMF therapy or electrical current therapies in conjunction with specific medications.

  • Not at all. Implanted hardware made of titanium does not negatively react to electrical stimulation. And stainless steel implanted hardware will not react because the current intensity is so low.

We always recommend checking with your vet, but with animals (and people) we’ve worked on who have metal implants, this has never once been a problem.

  • Although these frequency specific therapies do an amazing job at improving cell health, they cannot replace what’s not there.

For example, if your pets has had cartilage removed during surgery, we wouldn’t be able to get it to regenerate. However, we can take the existing cartilage in the affected area and get it into the best condition possible.

  • Because we monitor your pets behavior during treatment closely, there is an extremely low likelihood of them feeling worse afterward.

Sometimes they may feel more tired, but in most cases there is an increase in mood and euphoria with pets post-treatment

  • Please see The Science page on our site. With over 50 published articles and case studies, we’re sure to pique the interest of even the most staunch critic.

  • The short answer is, “Your pet can receive treatment as soon as possible.”

The body has a timetable for healing, and we can gently nudge it forward with our services. The real benefit is pain management, improving range of motion, and bringing blood flow back into the area with new nutrients and oxygen.
